Poonam Hurley
PT, DPT
Dr. Poonam Hurley is an instructor with Upstream Rehab Institute and a physical therapist practicing in Atlanta, GA. She is an instructor for the musculoskeletal and dry needling courses in both the URI Orthopaedic Residency and continuing education programs. Dr. Hurley obtained her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Emory University. She has graduated from URI’s Orthopaedic Residency and has achieved board certification in orthopaedics (OCS), and a certification in dry needling from two different programs. Dr. Hurley completed the URI Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy fellowship program and is recognized as a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists. She is a long time clinical instructor and serves as a mentor to new graduate physical therapists, orthopedic residents and fellows-in-training. Dr. Hurley has served the role of adjunct professor for various HBCU Physical Therapy programs.
