Ryan McConnell


PT, DPT

Dr. Ryan McConnell is a content developer and instructor with Upstream Rehab Institute and a physical therapist/clinic director practicing in Nashville, Tennessee. He is an instructor for: MT2 and MT3 in the URI Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship, musculoskeletal and dry needling courses in the URI Orthopaedic Residency and multiple continuing education programs. Dr. McConnell obtained his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.  He has achieved board certification in orthopaedics (OCS), is a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist, and he is certified in Vestibular Rehabilitation and Concussion Management.  Dr. McConnell has completed Orthopaedic Residency and OMPT Fellowship training with BenchMark Rehab Institute, and is recognized as a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists.  He is adjunct faculty in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Belmont University and is active in advocacy including being Chairperson for the Tennessee Physical Therapy Association.  Dr. McConnell is currently active in ongoing research including work with pedometers and is an enrolled researcher in a nationwide MS study.
